vintage English bar cart

So you know I have a weakness for anything English, right?

A couple weeks ago, I spied a sale that was coming up that listed, "lots of items from the U.K."
Well, hello.  I'm coming!

As soon as I walked in, I saw this gorgeous bar cart.
(or tea trolley...)

The beautiful patina of the wood was incredible, and the lady who was selling it had brought it over years ago.
I'm not sure how old it is, but it is fabulous.

I'm bringing this to The Farmhouse Show in a couple weeks, and pairing it with a few other goodies I will be bringing with me.

Beautiful French Haviland plates...

An ironstone jar
and silver...

...etched glasses, and decanters (most of what I have is at the shop, so I may be stealing one to put with this vignette...)

...and lots of white linens.

I'd love to keep this piece, but there's no spot for it in my house.

With the wheels, I think this would also be a super accessory to a kitchen prep area.

We are enjoying gorgeous fall weather, and I am soaking it up!

When it's too early in the day to paint, I've been working on getting things packed up for the show, and an upholstery project.
It's been awhile since I've done one, but I'm loving the results so far!

Have a great day~  I'll check back in with you all soon!

  1. Great piece, Denise! I've got my eye out for something like this for my daughter to use as a bar cart.

  2. So gorgeous! Love the color of the wood & its history. I would definitely have a tough time parting with it!

  3. Denise, there's no way you should get rid of that gorgeous piece! Oh my! LOVE! How much are you selling it for?

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a note!
