For a few weeks now, I've been wanting to do InstaFriday.

I always enjoy seeing other IG posts from blog friends, but Friday seems to sneak up on me...
{how exactly does Friday sneak up, anyway?}
so today I am finally on the ball.

And, it's a way for me to be more personal.

I've said before that my writing here doesn't seem to reflect me very well.
I always have creative writing envy from some of my friends who do it so effortlessly!

So here we go.... starting with last Saturday when we went to the season opener for University of Oregon!

It was an early Saturday for us, but we had a great time tailgating, and ended up next to the entire fan base that came for Nicholls State!
They were fun and really nice.
Hannah made her T-shirt for the game. I was so proud of her.
She's not into crafts or making things, and this one took a long time for her to finish.

If you can't read it, it says, "Our quarterback is faster than your runningback. Mariota for Heisman."

This was one of the new improvements to the stadium area- a beautiful waterfall next to the O.
It was H.O.T.T hot that day!!
Whew! We sweat buckets.
Several heat stroke issues with fans, but it was a fun game.

On Labor Day, we went over to our friends house for dinner.
Lois is one of my long time friends, and she put together this fun and sentimental table for us.

Each of us had our own spot, and she mixed us up so we weren't next to our spouses.
Fun quotes, and a theme for each person.

This was mine:

She said she wrote that about me because she has enjoyed seeing me blossom in my creativity over the last couple years.
I about cried.
Isn't it great when friends give you that little boost just when you need it?
I had been feeling discouraged that day, and it was the perfect pick me up.

The "Friends are Friends Forever" was a cheesy reference to the Michael W. Smith song from the 80's.
We all grew up hearing it way too much.

Hannah's first day of 7th grade.
I'm still shaking my head.
Do you ever look at your kids and just stare in awe?  When did they get this big?
When did she turn into a beautiful lady? How is it that she is as tall as me now?

I love seeing how she is growing into her own person with her own sense of style.
I especially love the relationship she has with Jon.

I loved this little project I shared with you here earlier this week.

I don't do the cutesy IG apps much, but this one was perfect.
I use the Rhonna Designs app.
Really fun stuff, but usually I don't have the time to go through and pick out something.
I'm more of a post and go girl.

These cookies caught my eye when we were doing our back to school grocery shopping.
We made them right away and they were pretty good!
Not life changing good, but I'm glad we tried them.
I'd say give it a try.
Pumpkin-y spicy, and I think it's just vanilla chips. ;)

I love, love, love painting signs.
I don't get to do it often enough, nor do I get to put these in my Etsy shop as often as I'd like to.

The bread and biscuits sign was painted on a chippy white fence board that looked like it came from a gate.
We were on a family walk a few weeks ago and my neighbor asked me if I'd like the board.
 They are awesome.
So fortunate to have such great neighbors!

It's chippy and very rustic, and I hope someone will enjoy it in their kitchen.
I'm taking it to the Deepwood Vintage Market next week.

I will be doing 4 of these window signs.  This was the first.
Last year I made a few of these, and the County Morgue signs sold the fastest.
The other version said Laboratory.  They all sold, but these ones were snatched up fast!

I hand letter these on the glass so it looks like an old transom window.
It's very tiring making these, but I still enjoy it.  I just have to pace myself.
This one will be going to Aunt Bee's House (hopefully today)
and the rest will go to Deepwood.

So there's my week in a nutshell!
You can follow more of my shenanigans on Instagram here!

Have a great weekend~  I'll be back soon with more projects soon.

  1. Hi Denise!!!

You've had quite the busy week!!!

You daughter looks like both your husband and yourself!!! In my family it was one way or the other parent, but, not both. I have a 22 and 29yr old and the time just flew by no matter how hard I tried to stop it.

I enjoy your Blog and I loved the doggie bed. Your dog looked like a king in his throne!! LOL

    Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a note!
