Fourth of July porch

Thank you so much for all the kind words and visits on our house tour.  There's still so much to do, but I've already got some changes in the works!

Now that we're already at the holiday, I thought it was time I finally finished up my decorations!
;)

I just love the Fourth of July!  It's one of my favorite holidays.
My husband's birthday was yesterday, so it's one of the reasons I love this time of year.

I added in a few more elements to our porch from what we had last year.  I'm sure with every year, there will be a few more additions!

This year, I added in the fabric "streamers" next to the bunting and the barn wood number fours.

I was lucky enough to find this great aged wood at our local ReStore!
The only problem is that there was glue all over the back.  I found out that these were all taken out of our Red Lobster restaurant when they recently did a remodel!!
For most of the projects I've used these for, I've been able to just use the good side.

I love the addition of the fours.
:)

Our front porch:

If you grew up in Oregon or SW Washington, you may notice a nostalgic bit I added:

Our local grocer started stocking Pop Shoppe sodas!
(see?  those of you in Cali who used to make fun of me for calling soda,
"pop" now have proof that I wasn't the only one!)
And, if you grew up watching the Ramblin Rod morning cartoon show, you probably have warm fuzzies right now.

I'm saving the bottles for vases.
Fresh picked raspberries from our garden.

And little flags tucked in around the yard and garden.

Thanks so much for your visit.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!
It's my second bloggy birthday tomorrow!

Cheers!

  3. I grew up in Spokane where I believe Pop Shoppe originated! I remember going on a field trip to the facility as a kid. I didn't know it was being made again!
I have one bottle that I, too, use as a vase!
your porch is adorable and I love the numbers! Great idea!

  8. Thanks for the kind words!!! I grew up in Spokane, but have lived in Lynden (N of Bellingham, on the Canadian border) for the last 19 years...love it here! My hubby just took a job in Bellevue so are contemplating what to do. He's in the grocery business so I'll have him look into what retailers may have the pop! So excited!!!
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. Very nice! I really got into decorating for the 4th this year since I now live in a house. I have always liked buntings but I opted for a flag banner. Maybe next year!
