recycled junk plant holders

I really went crazy with the projects this weekend.

It was a major ordeal to clean up the nook just to eat meals, because I had paint, graphite paper, stencils, jewels, glue and general crap all over!

This was a really fun little project I did.
I found this very simple, rustic, handmade tool box.
It was the perfect size to tuck flowers into.
I painted FLEURS (French, for "flowers", for those of you who aren't linguistic)
on the side.
Kinda cute.

For half a second I thought about keeping it right where it was for our front porch.
Must. stop. hoarding.
{LOL}

I took it in Sunday to the shop, and almost sold it to a lady before it even got in the door!
It did end up in my room, but only for the day.  It was gone by closing.
:)

Since that came and went pretty fast, I went to work on another piece I picked up.
This chicken waterer caught my eye at an estate sale.

The trough seemed deep enough to plant some succulents in, so that's exactly what I did.

Some embellishment on this one too, since I have to paint!
ha ha!

No significance to the #63, I just liked it.
This one is in my room at Aunt Bee's House, as of Monday.

What's your favorite way to tuck in some flowers?

  3. I can see why that little tool box sold immediately. Your little planters are clever and I like the painted numbers and letters.

  4. Hi Denise,

I love both of them and am not surprised that the box sold so quickly.

I'm heading to your area tomorrow to get my kids from school. If we can get my daughter's dorm room cleaned up early enough, I'm going to try to stop by Aunt Bee's House and see all of the great things in there!

    Have a great day.
