Pink Postcard house tour week! Day One

Hello again!
It's almost my second blog birthday, and I thought it was time I finally did an official house tour here.

I almost feel like I should start way back in the beginning, so you can understand where we are coming from with this house, but maybe I'll do that later.
:)
In a nutshell, prior to this house, we downsized to a 1600 sf home.  After two years there, we found our current place and have been filling it back up.

Here we go!

We moved in May 2008 to our current house.  It was built in 2007, and is a craftsman / traditional style.
It is just over 2400 sf, so it's taken us awhile to "fill it back up".
;)

Come on in!
Our entry way:

When you come in, there is a long staircase leading upstairs (for all you feng shui peeps out there, I know this is bad, but oh well.)

We love the openness of the downstairs.
We have a tufted velvet bench for guests that is in our long entry.  I got it at a garage sale a few years ago.  It was part of a bedroom set and sits next to the staircase.
I can't decide what kind of pillow cover I want on the bench, so it's unfinished at this point....

Our living room seems to be in a constant state of updating and changes, but here's the last picture I took of this space where it looked put together.

Right now I'm in the process of redoing a very large oak settee, and it's parked in the middle of the living room, being painted on the spot.
{Just to the left, if it were in this photo.....}

More on that renovation, later.

We have gorgeous views out the front window of forested hills and large homes on the hillside.
A nice big front porch, with room for a porch swing and two twig chairs.
It's my favorite spot during the summer months.

Just next to the living room is our dining room.

We have our antique piano next to this area, and we use it for piano lessons & practicing.

Occasionally, we have a grown up who likes to sit down and play.
I've thought it would be nice to hire a pianist for parties just for the ambiance.
It has a great sound for an old upright!

That's all for today.
I'm going to draw it out for the week, while I get caught up on daily life.
Tomorrow is the rest of the downstairs- kitchen, family room, nook, half bath and laundry room!

See you soon!
