farmhouse stripe runners & estate sale finds

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!

I wanted to show you a photo I took yesterday while the kids were hunting for Easter eggs:

Mostly, I was going for the beautiful cherry blossoms against the blue sky.  It wasn't until later in the afternoon that I noticed I also got a bee in there!
My parent's cherry tree sounded like a massive hive, there were so many bees buzzing!

Fridays, I usually scout out the local sales for new old stuff.
Last summer there were a few sales from the same person, just down the road from us.  The sale is listed as a 'pickers / garage sale' but the signs were all pretty fancy for just a garage sale.
As soon as I saw the signs go up, I was ready!

The first thing I spotted was this vintage ironing board.  I've been to a few sales where people have them for displaying items in their booths.

It will make a great display piece for all the linens I just stocked up on!
I also found two pretty tablecloths at the sale.
(the embroidered one to the left and the white linen with crochet trim next to it)

A vintage clothes pin bag!  I'm thinking about stenciling "LAUNDRY" on it....
what do you think?  Leave as is, or stencil??

These unfinished wooden shields.

Michelle from Vintage Junky had some in her shop, and I thought they were adorable! Can't wait to put my own spin on them!

Vintage Bibles.
Love them!  I had one in my space recently and now it's gone, so here's more to stock up with.

These smaller ones are prayer books.  Very sweet.

I also found this vintage home medical book.
With photos!  Yikes!!
Isn't it amazing they got Freddie Mercury to pose for these?
;)

A couple ironstone pieces:

A vintage Hawaiian pineapple crate.  Loved this!
A customer who was in the shop recently was looking for vintage Hawaiian items....I hope this will fit the bill to some degree!

I doubled up on all the fabric I got for the runners- some will be for my shop here locally, and I've decided I'm going to try doing my Etsy shop again, but on a more limited, easier-for-me-to-manage, basis.

Keeping up with my room space at Aunt Bee's,  photographing product, finding shipping supplies for all sorts of odd shape items, AND post office trips was too much for me to do all at once.

For now, I will have just the linens for sale, and see how that goes.  I'd like to expand back to what I had stocked- eventually?- but for now this seems do-able.

Tomorrow I have a new piece of furniture to show you!
Loving how it turned out- a total Pinterest inspired look.
