Farmer's Market sign

Happy New Year!
2011 was pretty awesome- I'm not sure how 2012 can compete / top it, but here's hoping! :)

Last week I picked up a chalkboard on one of my shopping trips.  I loved the curved top, and even though I don't need another chalkboard, I just like the framed out look of it.
Finding unique shapes like this is great, because they are great for signs, and then I have less prep work!

Here's how it turned out:

Our nook was needing some graphic oomph, and I love the addition of this to the shelves.

Here was what it looked like before:
.95 cents!  I couldn't even buy the wood for that cheap!
I painted the interior with a creamy white, and then used my stencil technique.  The green is by Americana, and it is called Hauser Light Green.
I used a chubby brush and painted it in a primitive way
(not going for perfection on this one, just a vintage reproduction look).

A fun new look for our eating area.

Also, I  finally started stripping our living room chair!! wahoo!

My hand is bruised and blistered, but I am so excited to finally give the ugly green chair a makeover.
That will be a fun project this week.
See you later!

If you are a small business owner, be on the lookout for a fun giveaway starting soon!
