weekend wrap up

Good morning!
Last week I intended to post some photos of our Christmas tree, but just got way too busy.
So I'm doing a little weekend pictorial of some of our fun stuff.
I am still in the process of decorating!  Our tree is done, but I'm primping a few spots around the house.
This year we got a 12' Noble Fir.  Since our living room redo, we had to adjust where we usually put the tree.  And, we had to get a skinnier tree.  I really like it though.  We always have the traditional colors, mixed in with some silver, and lots of rustic and vintage ornaments.  I'd like to start adding in some more white so it coordinates a little better with our living room.

I love this room at night.  The reflection of the tree in the mirror is also a nice bonus.

Saturday, I picked up a huge hutch that I will be starting on soon.  If you read my Facebook page, then you already got a peek at it.  I'll post some more soon.  Then, I ran down to Aunt Bee's to do some fluffing and restocking.  (yay!  I'm selling stuff!)
When I got back, we headed up to Portland for our annual family shopping trip.  A fun lunch out, and then shopping for ideas.  It's one of my favorite Christmas traditions.

Another one of our favorite Christmas traditions is this:

I am such a salty snacker, it's not even funny.  This is our 5th batch since Thanksgiving.  We polished off most of it last night.  And the batch the night before.  Good thing I'm heading to Zumba in a few minutes.
We like the traditional recipe.  But we customize it by adding a full stick of salted butter, a few extra dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and only cashews/almonds/peanuts.  A little extra wheat Chex is a bonus too.  They soak up the seasonings best!  :)

We also made our first batch of cookies- Russian Teacakes.  One of my favorites!

Our entry way got some love:
Simple, but festive.

I added in my stash of vintage letters- I thought it kinda hinted at letters to Santa. The candy cane Kisses are finally in a spot where Bella can't get to them!

Our exterior entry is finally sporting the vintage sled I picked up over the summer.  I've wanted one for the front porch for a long time.  I love the carved name in it!  Today I hope to finally get our wreath up.

In our family room this year, I have a collection of vintage wooden ornaments.  Some were my grandmother's, some are from my childhood.  I decided to group them together on a shelf.

It's busy, but cute.  I like that I can see them, and the size of the shelf works with how small they all are.

Finally, we had our family pictures taken on Sunday by one of my BFF's.  We just went to a local park, and had fun.  I studied up on coordinating our outfits from a Pinterest pin I added awhile back. Here's some of the fun outtakes from our shoot.  I love my husband's dimples; a perfect representation of Bella's cuteness, and my sweet Hannah.  She always tilts her head.

"Turkey Sandwich" - our family hug.  Hannah is the turkey.  Mom and dad are the bread. Hannah says Bella is the olive.

This one cracks me up.  I look like Mary on "Little House on the Prairie's" opening credits.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with good food, family fun, and fun projects!
