the next step

Well, if you follow my Facebook page, then this is not new; but I thought I should post some info and photos on some news.
After writing the post about pursuing your dreams, I really felt another prompting to swallow some fear and take another step forward.  As of Thursday night, I am now in a booth at Aunt Bee's House!

It feels like it happened really fast, but in reality, I've been thinking about it and praying about this next move for awhile.
My plan was to really begin looking after New Year's at some 'permanent' places to have my stuff for sale.  I love doing shows- but the furniture piling up in the garage, and the bins of small stuff piling up in my workroom was driving all of us nuts.  I decided to test the waters and see how it would go.  Amazingly enough, when I went in to ask, there was a small space available (small enough for rent not to be quite so scary, big enough to start with some smaller furniture pieces).

It's on a month to month lease, so if I feel like it's running away from me, I'm not locked in until I drown!  :)  I'm excited, scared, and hopeful, all at the same time.  If I fail, then at least I tried, and I'm not playing mind games with myself. And if I succeed, then hooray! I made another step forward in my fledgling business.

I'm excited to be a part of Aunt Bee's- I've blogged about this wonderful little store since the beginning of my blog.

There are other places I checked into, and in so many areas, this just seemed like the best fit for me.  I hope if you are in the area, you will check it out- it's a large space with over 100 vendors.  They are located in the Candalaria Shopping Center just off of Commercial St. in south Salem.
I love shopping here.  The ladies that I've already made connections with are all really nice, creative souls.
They also have a Facebook page and blog if you'd like to keep up on upcoming sales and events.

Thanks so much to all of you who commented on that post- it's so great to connect with you all as well.  With the opening of this new little space, I have been crazy busy, but I've been trying to get to all of you and say thanks.  I'll try and keep you posted on new items going in to the booth!

  1. Congratulations! It looks just darling that writing desk is adorable and will sell quick. That is what is so great about booths, since they are just month to month, you have nothing to lose! It won't be long and you will be moving to a bigger and bigger booth, it's so fun!

I got my first booth in April and just got a second one last month. It's been a lot of fun! I know what you mean about being a vendor at a show - I LOVE doing shows too!

I just linked your Blog so I can come visit it again. :)

  4. I am excited for you. Having a booth is such fun, and just plain rewarding - displaying your goodies, friendship, encouragement, and all. When I was in a mall I had to sign a six-month lease. After that period, it was another six months. What a bummer. Have fun.

Oh how I'd love to have a place like this near me, both to shop and to rent myself.

    Good luck!!

  8. What a cute store and a cute name to go with it. I just posted a vintage garland tutorial and giveaway you might enjoy. The garland is made from scrap fabric and book pages, what's not to love about that. thanks, Cindy

  11. Great to see that you are in my area. I've seen postings on Craigslist for Aunt Bee's Shop and I've been meaning to get over there. When I do I'll be sure to check out your booth.
