I ♥ Thrifting party wrap up & fun finds

Last Thursday night I had a little 'appetizer' - I went to the Goodwill a couple nights before the I ♥ Thrifting party on Saturday.  I found lots of good stuff!

My favorite find was this large German mail bag:

I can see several pillows coming from this!  I think it would look great with lots of fall stuff.  I am accumulating a small stash for an upcoming show in September.
This little silver bowl with it's beautiful patina (for sale in my Etsy shop...):

a little sail boat that is now in our master bedroom:

vintage rose prints are always keepers!

This great plaster stand:

this has gotten a coat of white paint and will be distressed with some dark stain.

I have been looking for something like this for awhile to elevate the urn in our dining room! I couldn't believe the price!!

There are a couple other items that I will feature here in the near future.  They're already in use with some other things!

Then, Saturday morning I made my way up to the Beaverton Habitat for Humanity Restore.

It was one of three locations in Portland that we met at for the I ♥ Thrifting party.  If you missed it, you can read about the event and other parties that went on around the U.S. here.
The people at ReStore were so nice and gracious to offer discounts and a giveaway for the event!
The Beaverton store is fairly new, and was a warehouse full of goodies.  If you are looking for home improvement items or some seriously discounted furniture, check them out!
These were some cool pieces:

this large antique door was amazing.  I think it was around $200.  The detail is unlike anything you could find today!
I loved this light fixture.  Oil rubbed bronze paint for a traditional look, or maybe a funky hot pink?  :)
A vintage bathroom vanity.  I would just use the mirror.  Maybe hung from a ribbon...
corner cabinet- waiting to be painted or stained

one of my favorite blogs, August Fields, installed a drinking fountain near a back door for their kiddos.  I think this is such a brilliant idea! Wish I had room to take this home and do that!! $25 for this one.
I bought a few cabinet doors- I fell in love with these glass front doors purely for the diamond motif:

I brought them home (2) and can't wait to use them.  Not sure exactly where, but I've never seen any like this before.  And right next to them were these vintage beauties:

I am looking forward to a new menu board (one to keep and one to sell) and a holiday sign of some sort with the skinnier version, pictured above.

I was able to meet up with Katie from Newcomb Home at the end of the morning :)  It was so great to see her and chat for a bit.  Make sure you stop by her blog and say hi!  She got an awesome deal on Saturday as well!  She was so nice and it was great to meet another Oregon blogger.  We got our picture taken with Alex, the store manager of the Beaverton ReStore.

(sorry it's blurry....) Yes, I'm not wearing my I ♥ Thrifting shirt here....I ordered it too close to the deadline.  And, wouldn't you know it...it arrived Saturday afternoon when I got home.
Just my luck.

Now I have it for my other thrifty outings!
Hope you had a great weekend.
What treasures did you find?
You can show them off on Wednesday at my party:

Hope to see you then!
This week I am going to begin our kitchen makeover!  I will try and post updates on my Facebook and blog- stay tuned.

  1. I enjoyed my thrifting day too and found a couple of great things. I was in the thrifting mood still today and got an awesome oil painting at the goodwill for $5. I then went to the ReStore and found a bowl for my friend!
