junk salvation 2011

We had such a great time at our first Junk Salvation event!
So many fun vendors, tons of great stuff!

I went up with my buddy, Janie.  We are both soooo not morning people, but we were up bright and early with caffeinated beverages for the one hour drive.

The Oregon event took place in Hillsboro.  There is also another Junk Salvation coming up soon in Washington.  (so if you're in the NW, and you missed this one, you can still make it to #2-May 13 & 14 in Puyallup, WA- not all the same vendors though!)  You can check out their site here.

Walking into the building we were greeted with this super fun sign:

It opened at 8am, but we arrived shortly after 9am.  There were people walking out with giant birdcages, shelves, frames, and bags by the armload.  Seeing all of the great stuff already coming out the door made us pick up the pace a little faster to get in.

The first thing we saw as we came through the entrance was this little cutie:

There were several vintage trailers all dolled up through out the building.  They were so fun to peek inside and check out!

Janie checking out little red.

My favorite one was even up for sale!  I didn't get any exterior pictures, but check out the adorable inside:

sleeping area

loved the vintage turquoise fan!! The retro laminate counter tops were too cool.  It even had a mini oven / stove top in turquoise!

How fun would these be to have as a mom getaway?  Even if it was parked out back, it would be such a fun girlfriend hangout- no kids allowed!  ;)
(Kind of like a grown up tree house! he he)
I think the asking price was $3550?  I wish I'd paid more attention, but I was too enamored with the cuteness.

I ran into a few people I knew while we were there:

My longtime friend Bethany and her mom found some really fun stuff.  I had no idea they were going to be there, so it was fun seeing them.

My friend Sarah was a vendor at J.S. this year.  She has the cutest stuff!  She and her mom always work together on these shows, and I love seeing her booth.  She's amazing!  Her business name is Roost REimagined- her blog is on my sidebar.  Sarah is one super talented girlie.

I even ran into my parents!!  How funny is that?  They love this kind of stuff, and when I'd told them about my weekend plans, they thought it might be fun to check out too!

This was Janie's big purchase of the day.  She got it from another one of my favorite vendors- Molly Mo's.
Janie was on the hunt for a table / cabinet for art supplies and board games for their den that they are working on.  Perfect!

I walked away with some really cute accessories.  I couldn't resist this rusty crown:

...or a cream urn for my mini collection on top of the piano:

And the uber popular book bundle- I was looking for something like this for the master bedroom:

It was a fantastic event, and so worth the one hour drive.
I had a great time shopping with my buddy, and it was an opportunity to check out a show that I hope to apply for next season!
I hope you all had a great weekend ~

Happy Monday!

  1. What a fun post!! You are so cute. I love the trailer!!

  2. It looks like you had fun! I adore those little campers, how cute and yes it would be great to just park out back to escape for while! Cute purchases too!

  3. how fun. we are going to try to make a book bundle ourselves. can't be too hard, and i'm going to paint the edges of the books too.

love your necklace....where did you get it?

  4. I wish I had room for one of those trailers. I would seriously be buying one and it would be off limits to everyone but me. Love 'em. Looks like you had so much fun, my kind of place.

  5. How fun was that place??!! I wish I could have shopped there. Loved this post!

  6. That sounds like a lot of fun! I was just at a place near me (a 2 hr. drive) and it also had fabulous stuff!! Looks like we have a lot in common : )
    Tammy : )

  10. It looks like so much fun. I wish we had something like that nearby. But there is a little town just 15 minutes away that has tons of Antique Mall type stores. And we used to have an old trailer like that for camping when I was little. It was white and turquoise but didn't have any of the cuteness of the one in your photo. Thanks for sharing your day. Robyn

  11. oh, denise, it looks like you had a blast. what a fun event to go to - and to see so many people you know.

  12. Oh how fun! I wish we had something like that here! Love all of your finds.

  13. We must have just missed you! Hilary & I went with Joan, Steph & Cristina. We saw Teri on her way out. It was a great girls day out!

  14. This looks like so much fun- I wish I was there! I want a little vintage trailer sooo much... I've been looking for one for about a year now, but here in the "rust belt" tiny trailers don't hold up so well- usually when I find one for sale it is in really sad shape... one day! Thanks for sharing your day- fun post : )

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a note!
