a different take on the laundry soap jar

Usually Fridays are my day to post a favorite recipe or food related item,
but it's just been one of those weeks.
As in, I haven't been to the grocery store, and we're eatin' soup for dinner, kinda weeks.

So I'm keeping it simple today.

My day will consist of taking Bella to the groomer,
getting my car cleaned thoroughly at the detail car wash,
(I have so much dirt in my trunk I could start a garden!)
making the much needed trip to the grocery store for back to school lunch stuff and Fallish dinners,
and at exactly 4:00 pm, we will be peering over the heads of other kiddos, looking at class lists posted in the school windows....
all anxious to see who the teacher is for the year!

One thing I will share with you today is a little something I put together for our laundry room.  I've had this idea in my head for a couple years, and I just now got it together.  I've never seen this done before.

I'm a liquid detergent girl, and I like the pretty jars that people use for their powdered soap.  So I thought of a pretty jar idea for liquid detergent!

I also added in some glass cups to use as measuring scoops.  Mine are old punchbowl cups- I never use them because I only have 5 with my set.  So, I thought they'd make pretty scoops for my
Borax and detergent!

Simple and pretty.

Happy Labor Day to you all- enjoy the long weekend.

  5. Neat idea! If I had a nice looking main floor laundry I'd do the same thing! Our laundry is in the basement, and isn't a place I care to spend a lot of time in!!!

  9. I read on a later post that this liquid idea didn't work out for you, will you explain why? I love how it looks so I'd like to try it. If it was the spigot that didn't work out, I wonder if you could replace it with the spigot that comes on the larger detergent bottles?

  10. @Salty TeeZ: I tried to email a response to your question, but I didn't see an address for you on your profile page- hopefully you will see my comment here! :)
I purchased the jars after I'd looked at the spigots- they seemed wide / large enough to have the liquid run through, but it just clogged up and was a drip drip drip. Not very efficient for when you need to get a quick load going! Plus it drip drip dripped after turning off the spigot, so I always had to put a sock or rag under it so I didn't have a puddle on my counter!

I suppose I could've tried to replace the spigot, but it just seemed easier to go to powder. Live and learn, I guess! thanks for your question!

  13. I just found you and this creative post. If you're able to answer I'd appreciate it....I was wondering where you found the liquid detergent dispenser and does it work well? I love that idea because like you I use the liquid detergent. Thanks!
